Hey everyone! We have officially launched our Saratoga chapter at Argonaut Elementary school in Saratoga California. We are teaching first through fifth graders with hands-on and challenging curriculum that will encourage critical thinking and engagement among all age groups. I chose the engineering curriculum as it has many hands-on activities. So far, the students have participated in the egg drop challenge, learning about potential and kinetic energy, have made their own catapult, simultaneously learning about tension and the parts of catapult, and dived into architecture where they were challenged to make the tallest tower out of just spaghetti and marshmallows. With each activity I encourage students to collaborate, improve their designs, and most importantly, not give up if it doesn't work the first time! Seeing students take home and proudly display their creations is always really rewarding and sweet to see. We'll continue to post updates. If anyone is interested in joining, let us know!
