Hi everybody! This week on Wednesday Jan 21, our students explored the geometric design of the cartesian plane and its connections to trigonometry. Our volunteers gave a fun, collaborative activity to the students which involved finding the length of a string by laying it across grid paper and utilizing the squares as their units. They were able to use the distance formula and understand that it comes from the Pythagorean theorem for the right-angle triangle, and the importance of the absolute value function. Overall, they succeeded in applying this mix of concepts and are looking forward for the next week. See you later on Wednesday Jan 28!
