Hi everyone! I’m incredibly excited to share that I recently started a new FIRST LEGO League (FLL) based robotics chapter focused on teaching STEM, coding, and engineering to younger students in my community.
We will be running weekly classes at Leonia Public Library on Wednesdays from 11AM to 2PM for all four weeks of August, where we introduce kids from grades 2nd to 8th to: LEGO robotics & simple programming, hands-on engineering and innovation challenges, and teamwork, creativity, and FLL Core Values. We will be using SPIKE Prime’s LEGO robotics kits and  coding app, recycled materials, and provided art supplies to achieve these goals. The long-term goal is to make robotics more accessible to underrepresented students, especially girls, and eventually help them form full FLL teams for competition.
We’re currently fundraising to get our own LEGO robotics kits so we can grow and offer even more to the community. If you’d like to support or connect, feel free to reach out or donate directly at https://gofund.me/d4f107cb
I would like to thank everyone in this space for inspiring and helping me with the program. The support means a lot to me and our future robotics community. I’m excited to embark on this journey of making a difference in the world using the power of STEM! 🚀 🤖
