Hey there, Wolves! Today we had an awesome start to our very first session - we started off with a racetrack-building competition where everyone got into groups of 2-3 people, and each group was assigned with the task of building a racetrack out of wooden blocks and rolling a marble through the track. The catch was, you could only push the marble one time throughout the entire duration of your track! After all the racetrack presentations and a class-wide vote, Team Alvin took the win - congrats, Team Alvin! Next, we kickstarted our Introduction to Engineering course with a lesson on the different types of energy, such as Potential Energy and Kinetic Energy, and the roles both types of energy played in Mechanical Energy. We learned about cool concepts such as gravitational acceleration, and we introduced our experiment for next week - an egg drop challenge where teams of 2-3 students have to prevent an egg from breaking upon a high drop, using straws and the concepts of energy we learned!
See you all next week for our exciting experiment. Go Wolves! :wolf:
