Hey everyone, today we had our third Pre-Algebra class. As always we started our class with a review of last weeks material where we practiced basic PEMDAS and Number theory. After that we got into reviewing prime and composite numbers. Most of the class seemed to be proficient with this already so we were able to move on quickly. The next topic was prime factorization. We spend extra time here because it's a little different from the topics we had covered so far before getting into Greatest Common Factor and Least Common Multiple. We practiced with some exercises here and also briefly discussed how to get GCF and LCM with prime factorization they just learned. After doing some more challenging problems, we moved into fractions including arithmetic with fractions, simplifying fractions and an intro to proportions. To end, we opened the class to questions and played a few rounds of a Make 24 game. The class was pretty focused today and responded well to the more difficult questions that we added. See you on Wednesday!
