Hello Huskies! It’s been a cold and snowy winter for Chicago but these future scientists continued to engage in fun STEM workshops such as… instructing a computer to make a PB&J sandwich! As an introduction to computer science, the students were asked to write directions on pieces of paper on how to make a sandwich for a mentor to read. They were told that the “computer” has no prior knowledge and that it can only execute what it's told. After the first round of disastrous PB&J’s, the huskies realized they needed to be as specific as possible! At the end, the whole class crafted a new set of instructions and the computer ran the code successfully. A perfect PB&J was formed and eaten happily by Mr. Computer.
