Hey Palo Alto! Today, we explored coding in Java! We began with an introduction to the basics of programming and how coding can be used to solve problems and create fun projects. Then, we practiced writing simple programs that allowed kids to create digital letters to friends by coding personalized text messages. After that, we discovered how code can be a form of art! Using Java, participants created colorful patterns and shapes, turning lines of code into creative digital artwork. Some had prior coding experience and jumped right in, while others followed along step by step and were excited to see their programs come to life. By the end, everyone had the chance to both code a message and make their own piece of coding art!
