Hi everyone! This Saturday (11/1) we held our second workshop at the Sunnyvale Library, with 32 participants. Students were challenged with building an aluminum foil boat that can hold as many glass marbles as possible. After learning about the relationship between buoyancy, gravity, and density, and strategies to building strong boats, they took on the challenge again with a twist: their boats now had to carry heavier stones instead of marbles! After implementing what they learned, we noticed significant improvements in their boat design and strength. The students loved building and competing against each other!
