For our final session at Windsor Elementary school, we did a variety of activities and experiments! First, we did a baking soda and vinegar reaction in plastic water bottles - we attached deflated balloons to the mouths of the bottles, and the objective was to make the balloons inflate from the CO2 released by the reactions. After a few super exciting experiments with these ingredients, we had a quick lecture on architecture, including discussion around gravity, support and balance. To further develop on these architectural principles and wrap up this year's Introduction to Engineering program, we did an exciting challenge where students grouped into teams of 2-3 and competed to build the tallest tower out of spaghetti noodles and clay, using the concepts of support and balance! This year's program was a super fun one, with many exciting experiments and lessons, and thank you to all of our students who participated and helped make it awesome. See you next year!
