Columbia Weekly Review (4/11/25)

April 11, 2025
Hi Cougars! This week, we learned about airplanes, my favorite lesson I have prepared in the past month. We first explored every legend and invention preceding the Wright brothers' airplane: the tale of Icarus, hot air balloons, gliders, and Langley's aerodrome. Next, we learned every fundamental physical principle contributing to flight, such as aerodynamics, Bernoulli's principle, and Newton's three laws of motion. To further test these principles, I have also made some gliders out of cardboard while I was studying Robotics, and we flew them to rate each glider's flight time and durability. In our next class, we are going to apply our knowledge to make DIY gliders that can fly further than mine. I can't wait to see you all after spring break!
