September Distinguished Service Award: Geethi Tarra

Congratulations to Geethi for being selected as September’s Distinguished Service Award recipients!

Geethi has done an amazing job establishing our STEM for Others San Luis Obispo chapter and building a partnership with Laguna Middle School to bring hands-on STEM learning opportunities to students. She and her team have developed an exciting lineup of interdisciplinary projects spanning biology, statistics, and economics, designed to integrate with the school’s existing curriculum and encourage students to learn through experimentation, problem-solving, and collaboration.Beyond developing these projects, Geethi has taken initiative in coordinating volunteers, organizing project schedules, creating detailed teacher guides and student worksheets, and building the chapter’s presence through articles and social media. Her commitment to turning their ideas into meaningful, accessible STEM experiences for students is a great example of the impact our chapter leaders make in communities worldwide. We’re incredibly proud of Geethi and the entire SLO team for their initiative, teamwork, and dedication to expanding access to STEM education.
