Hey Wildcats! Today we had a lecture on architecture. We went over its definition, history, and important concepts. Two topics we highlighted were compression and tension and how they can be used to make sturdy and long-lasting structures. We even had a demonstration using pieces of paper to show how the concepts work in practice. Finally, we went over the structures of bridges and skyscrapers and how the ideas we discussed related to them. From there, everyone got to work designing blueprints for their bridges and skyscrapers, as they will be the subjects of our next two experiments. We can’t wait to get building next week!
